Notable cases

Mr. Palermo obtained a verdict of $1,950,000 for a client that was injured by a convicted felon that was mistakenly released from jail. The case garnered a great deal of media attention because it was the first time that the State of New York was held liable for injuries caused by an accidentally released felon. The trial was reported in several prominent newspapers including New York Law Journal, New York Post, The Daily News, and Newsday.

In another recent case, Mr. Palermo was successful in obtaining $3,200,000 for a young child that was seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident.  Although the case was highly contested, Mr. Palermo was able to obtain an extremely favorable settlement from the insurance carrier. Mr. Palermo did this through the use of experts, including accident reconstruction specialist, doctors and economists.

Mr. Palermo also obtained a settlement of $975,000 for a client that was injured in an automobile accident. In that case the driver of the vehicle was insured for only $250,000. After a thorough investigation Mr. Palermo determined that the driver had leased the vehicle from a leasing company. Mr. Palermo was able to obtain an additional $725,000 for his client from the leasing company.
