Palermo, Palermo & Tuohy, P.C. is proud to announce the addition of an Education Law Department to our law firm. This practice will be concentrated in advocacy for families with children requiring special educational services. The firm will strive to secure appropriate individualized educational programs and associated services to children with autism and related disabilities.
The firm finds that there is a great need for legal advocacy for families with children who have autism spectrum disabilities. We believe that the fifteen years that our firm has practiced in Suffolk and Nassau Counties, in practice areas which involve substantial litigation, makes us uniquely suited to handle the advocacy issues that often arise between parents of children with autism spectrum disabilities and school districts over what constitutes “free and appropriate education”, pursuant to the Individuals with Disability Education Improvement Act of 2004.
